There probably will be good powder at Sunshine on Friday. But don't take my word for it. Check their snow report in the morning.

Ah, spring is here and that means fluffy powder is probably gone until next season. This weekend you can expect spring snow pretty much everywhere. And that means conditions will be comparable across the board. Of course Wheezler must have the best base right now so I'd give them the nod for best conditions. In the rockies I'm still talking up Sunshine until proven otherwise.

Last weekend there were a number of great bets for powder. I haven't heard but I'm pretty sure Whitewater was spectacular. I also have confirmation that Revelstoke was outstanding. Assuming everywhere is closed except Whistler, Kicking Horse, Fernie, Louise, Sunshine, Norquay, and Marmot... I honestly can't say any of them will have nice powder this week. For spring conditions Louise, KH, and Fernie will rock if the sun is out this weekend. Whistler has a huge base so the skiing should be excellent there for weeks.

Based on first hand knowledge I gotta tell ya that Sunshine has some great snow right now. Fernie had a good snowfall this weekend but I found out the hard way that this is not necessarily a guarantee for great conditions. It can change dramatically in just a few days in warm, rain threatened, places like Fernie. That said, the outlook is for cooler temperatures in the Elk Valley this week. Now... based on the forecast... Whistler looks incredible. And they can't keep teasing us with these awesome snow forecasts. Sooner or later the snow gods will deliver.
